130 years of golfing heritage

Founded in 1893, Reay Golf Club has seen many changes over the years and remains to this day a true links course run by the community, for the community. We are especially pleased to begin this momentous year as the proud owners of the land on which our historic course is positioned.

Historic Reay

Proud member of the James Braid Highland Golf Trail

We are one of only seven clubs in the North of Scotland designed in full or in part by the renowned golf course architect James Braid, regarded as one of the finest ever in his field. In 1933, 40 years after the club's founding, Braid was called on to work his magic on this natural links course.

Living dunes & incredible biodiversity

Reay Golf Club is a prime example of how a combination of proactive management and minimal input can lead to a landscape that is visually attractive, a tough test for golf and, significantly, a diverse habitat for a variety of wildlife. We have remained true to the links heritage and as such can now offer one of the few remaining pristine links lands in Scotland.

A true hidden gem on the North Coast 500

The renowned golf course architect Donald Steele is quoted as saying of Reay Golf Club, “In a different location, it would enjoy worldwide acclaim.” But it is precisely the location that gives the course at Reay its great distinction, as the most northernly18 hole links course on the British mainland. Discover what makes the North Coast of Scotland so charming - we'll be very glad to welcome you to our beautiful wee corner of the world.
